About Linda Winkler

My first inspiration to create wearable art came to me 22 years ago on a pristine and desolate beach in Baja California Sur. I had always enjoyed collecting and classifying all types of seashells that I called "my gems from Mother Nature." Spending several months and years at a time on the beautiful beaches of Baja, I had the luxury of being able to devote myself to creating jewelry from my findings of shells, coral and bone.

A great part of my life has been spent in Baja as well as the Yucatan peninsula, where I learned different artistic media from Navajo Sand painting to ceramic mosaics. Mexico has always been an inspiration to me and Mother Nature has always been my companion. My travels have lent themselves to my creative spirit, but I have now settled down to enjoy handcrafting unique and original designs made with gifts from the Earth for those who love life and as I like to say "get it."

I now live in San Diego, California and am enjoying so much of what this beautiful city has to offer.
